A long, long time ago.

For many years up until the early '60's, New Dorp Beach was a vibrant growing community. At one time, it was a summer vacation spot with hotels and picnic groves catering to people seeking relaxation.
As the area became more well known, summer homes were built. Some families rented homes for the entire season; others bought vacation property.
